Since our beginning in 1927 and Chartered July 18, 1930 , American Legion Paradise Post 79 has been welcoming VETERANS from all branches of our Armed Forces. Joining our Post enables you to continue serving your God, community, state and nation. Our mission is to implement the goals, aspirations, dreams, peace and blessings for our country, friends and families embodied in our preamble below.
To the wonderful patriotic citizens of the New Port Richey, Florida community, help us: to continue sponsoring scholarships for our children, Little League Baseball, Boys Scouts of America, Boys State, American Legion Baseball, Junior Shooting Sports and Junior ROTC units, etc.; to give aid and assistance to our local needy Veterans and their families; and to continue to support worthy community programs and projects.
For God and Country....
Effective July 30, 2019, The American Legion’s eligibility criteria changed from seven war eras to two: April 6, 1917, to Nov. 11, 1918, and Dec. 7, 1941 to a time later determined by the federal government. No other restrictions to American Legion membership are changed.
Veterans who were honorably discharged but whose service did not fall into the previous defined war eras may now join The American Legion immediately. To do so, eligible members may sign up by providing their DD-214 indicating Honorable Discharge.
